- Get to know and value local heritage, such as the São Romão festivities in Santo André;
- Develop observation, expression and graphic representation skills;
- Explore visual elements of the festivities: costumes, colors, symbolic objects (pitchers, flowers, processions, music, etc.);
- Produce a visual composition inspired by the festival, using different plastic techniques.

Classroom Organisation
An organized space for group, dynamic and practical activities. It's also important for the space to have comfortable tables and chairs that can be adjusted to the age group of the students, including those with special educational needs. Finally, a variety of artistic materials, such as colored pencils, pens, paints, paper/cardboard, magazines and more.

Description
Lesson 1 (50 min)
Motivation and framing of the topic
- Talking to the students about the São Romão Festivities (such as the location, the significance of the religious and cultural celebration and other relevant elements).
- Watching videos and images using immersive reality glasses available on the Internet for visual contextualization.
Artistic exploration
Collective analysis of the videos and images observed (What colors predominate? What objects and symbols are used? How are the elements used in the procession decorated? among other important aspects for contextualizing the theme being explored.
Lesson 2 (50 min)
Plastic Activity
Abstract representation of the most characteristic colors and shapes in the São Romão festivities, using different types of plastic techniques;
Presentation and reflection;
Presentation of the work to the class and explanation of what they have created and why.

- Exhibition of the work done at Santo André Parish Council;
- Articulation with the subject areas of History and Geography of Portugal, Portuguese and Citizenship and Development.

Worksheets Description
The students' assessment is based on their participation and interest in the cultural discussion, their
mastery of the different plastic techniques and finally their creativity and connection to the theme explored.
Worksheet (answering a set of multiple-choice questions on the meaning and importance of local traditions, such as the São Romão Festivities, to consolidate the learning explored).
